Monday, May 27, is Memorial Day. It is the day when America honors the people who have given their lives in service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard) to keep our country safe. We will go on Saturday to plant flags on the graves of American veterans. Here is a photo of Cameron a few years ago helping with the flag planting. We have gone for the past five years. There are 80,000 graves that have a flag individually planted. It takes about an hour to put the flags out. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Venturing Scouts all help with the flag planting. We go to the Los Angeles National Cemetery which is near the 405 freeway, north of the 10.

This is Cameron when he was in the first grade. We went with Cam’s friend to the NFL studios and met this guy who was an actor on Hannah Montana. He played Mr. Corelli. Do you recognize him? He was very nice and friendly to the boys.

I wonder what Louis A. Philippi’s story is… We know he was from Pennsylvania, but ended up being buried in Los Angeles.
I wish i was Cameron but as a girl not a boy because he got to meet the guy from Hannah Montana and the other pic is nice. 🙂

It was a great experience. Sad that the soldiers (and sailors) died, but a good experience anyway.
